The book Night is about a twelve-year-old boy that grew up in Transylvania which is a small town. Elie studied Talmud but he wanted to learn Kabbalah. His father found out that the Nazi got control over Hungary. The Nazi’s started to evacuate the Jews out of Transylvania, and started loading them all into the cattle cars.
While reading the book Night by Elie Wiesel, one of the things I learned about was the jews living conditions. I read about Elie living them with many other jews and it stuck out to me because how could a person live like that and stay alive? Every jew that was caught was sent to a concentration camp and had a total different way of lifestyle when being held there. Another thing that stuck out while reading the book was the SS officers. The SS officers are Hitler's protective unit.

The Holocaust was a very traumatic event for everyone who experienced it and those who came after, and it gave many people experience, trauma, and disorders that they should never have had. Those of us who did not personally experience the pain will never know what those Jews went through in those camps, but Maus and Night share the experiences and horrors that millions of Jews had to live through. Maus is a survivor tale that tells the author, Artie Speigelmen’s father’s experiences in the Holocaust and his retelling through a graphic novel. Many people are unaware about the Holocaust and its tragedies. Many don’t think about the concentration camps and the horrors inside of them. Night is a memoir written by Elie Wiesel. The memoir tells of his experiences and life inside of the concentration camps during the Holocaust and how survived the horrific place known as Auschwitz. Elie Wiesel named his first book Night as the times written about in the book were some of the darkest times in his life because of the way he was treated, the suffering he went through, and because of his father’s death.
The death march in Night by Elie Wiesel is started when all the prisoners were forced to leave the camp that they were at and relocate to a new camp. The night was very cold and snowy, and Elie’s foot was already hurt because of some pus that was in it. His only choice was to go on with the march on a hurt foot or stay in the camp and probably die anyways. He decided to go on the march because he wanted to be with his father and he didn’t want to die helplessly. At around six at night, the entire camp lines up in formation and they all started marching block by block.
Night By Elie Wiesel Through his rough time at the concentration camp Elie did his best to keep his hope up. During the book Elie showed hope that kept him motivated to stay alive. In Night by Elie Wiesel it shows hopes keeps the spirit of motivation to stay alive when he was trapped under bodies, kept running/walking to the concentration camp, and keeping his dad alive. Hope was shown when Elie was trapped under bodies; he was motivated by hope to survive. In the book he said “ I succeeded to digging a hole in the wall of dead and dying people , a small hole through which I could drink a little air.”

Elie Wiesel: Elie Wiesel is the author of Night, his famous memoir of his terrifying and tragic experiences during the Holocaust. He was 15 years old when he and his family were deported to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi death camp and symbol of genocide and terror. His mother and younger sister died there, while his two older sisters survived. Wiesel and his father were later transported to Buchenwald, where his father died shortly before the camp was liberated in April of 1945. Elie Wiesel was born in 1928 in the town of Sighet, now part of Romania.

Throughout the story it is discovered that family plays an important role in not just surviving but living too.
The drinking age in Ontario should clearly be changed and increased to the age of 21 instead of 19. It should change because drunk driving is a major issue, many health organizations have requested upon a change, and finally students react differently when alcohol is consumed. Therefore, the drinking age should clearly be raised, so all of this could happen less frequently. Health organizations are suggesting it to be changed“ The last time Ontario considered a change was in 2008, when a board of health officially requested the province to increase the drinking age to 21” (2013, Pg: ½).
