As I began to read Where the Red Fern Grows, I started to wonder what the purpose of this book was. Was it to teach a lesson or just to simply tell a story? After I had finished Where The Red fern Grows, I realized the answer to my question. Wilson Rawls, you are the author of this novel, and I now realize that there was more than just one purpose to you writing this novel. The purpose of you creating this novel wasn’t just to teach people to never give up, it was to also teach them to always try their hardest, and to live in the moment. Where the Red Fern Grows caused me to dedicate myself to my goals, no matter how large they may seem. It caused me to be more positive overall, to not complain as much as I used to. Then I commenced into finding my goal so that I could relate more so to Billy than I had beforehand. When I had gotten my progress report a week later, I realized that it wasn’t where I wanted to be. It seemed to be perfect timing and so I took on my goal. I still remember all of the late nights studying, color coding and rewriting my notes. It was somehow easier for me to complete my goal as Billy had also. The book really motivated me and I don’t think I could without the inspiration. Thank you for that,
