Before entering Boy Scouts, I honestly couldn't be bothered to muse on environmental conservatism or open my eyes to the beauty of the outdoors. As long as video games numbed me and my environment was comfortable, I was content.

Scouting enlightened me. I progressed from attending small camp outs, to organizing caving trips to fundraising and helping to coordinate a two week long backpacking trip. At each step I was as breath taken by the tranquility and brilliance of the unadulterated outdoors as I was bemused by the blatant lack of appreciation delivered by not only the general public, but fellow outdoorsmen!

Luckily Boy Scouts provided me with a group of like minded youth with similar goals of preservation. We extended the Scouting motto
