Midlothian Middle School has been the place covering up hundreds of pieces of history these past hundreds of years. So much history that one could have a hard time memorizing all of it. There is one story though, one that stuck around. Always there, knocking on the back of your head asking to come into your mind like when someone knocks on your door asking to come in. The spot where Midlothian Middle school stands today sure has been a hotspot for some interesting history.
As modern Americans think about how lucky we are in some situations and problems. Because for some people, there is or was not any such as luck or escape from the situations and problems like we have today. In the antebellum South and a prison camp Camp 14 in North Korea, their lives are different and hard. In addition, they all lived in the conditions that threaten, oppress, and brainwash them. For them, they don’t have any choice for education and freedom.
Growing up in a lower-middle class home, I have learned to be modest and frugal. I have also learned that nothing comes free and that everything must be earned through determination and hard work. So when I joined the Cub Scouts at age 7, I was determined to excel and achieve the highest rank in scouting, Eagle Scout. Since then, I have been intent on changing things for the better in everything I participated in. Ergo, having a lifetime goal to give back to the Earth, whether it be directly by studying chemistry to help the Earth or indirectly by donating some of my time and money back into the science field to help fund future developments of technology, seems best for the world.
The Boys and Girls Club was started in 1860 in Hartford Connecticut by Mary Goodwin, Alice Goodwin, and Elizabeth Hammersley. Originally the club was known as Boys Club of America and their goal was to keep young boys off the streets and provide them with a more influential place to go. However, it wasn’t until 1990 that girls became involved and the club was renamed the Boys and Girls Club (www.bgca.org). Today, the Boys and Girls Club’s mission is to help boys and girls realize what they are capable of and become accomplished citizens. The program also wants children to be aware of their own importance, impact, helpfulness, and ability as individuals (www.bgcsnv.org).

The Nickel Boys Essay In the novel The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead, racism against black people is a constant topic that the author embraces. Throughout this essay, I will talk about how racism was a big part of this novel, how this influenced people’s mindset to think that white people were in control of black people or felt they had a certain power over them, and how this impacted the treatment they had over black people. The setting of this novel, which is the Nickel Academy, portrays these topics because this was the housemen’s behaviour towards the black boys. From my point of view, the part I found most racist was when Elwood Curtis was sent to this academy for a false accusation of stealing a car.
The Girl Scout leader said “we believe strongly in all-girl, all-led and a girl power friendly environment.” The Boy Scouts are saying that their official plan in all of this has nothing to do with the Girl Scouts. There are parents saying that they want their daughter to be able to choose who they are with. They are thinking of a plan about whether to do three different types of groups, one group of boys, one group of girls, and one group of mixed between girls and

Why this extract is enthralling to me: This particular scene caught my attention because Hamlet brutally stabbed Polonius with a sword while in the midst of yelling at his own mother. Not too long before this scene, Hamlet was down on himself for not doing anything in order to avenge his father’s death; however, in this scene, he accomplished two different tasks to further his vengeance. The first task is undergoing a harsh conversation with his mother to enlighten her about what his father-uncle did, and the second task is brutally murdering a close worker of the king and queen. This scene, therefore, is important to restage because it shows the first steps that Hamlet took is avenging his father.
