Brassica Rapa Lab Report

Introduction:
The experiment that was done will show that 75 percent soil, and 25 percent soil growth, 100 percent soil the control group will allow the Brassica rapa to grow to a larger extent than the others. While the 100 percent sand, the 50 percent sand and 50 percent soil group will either not grow or not grow as much. The reason that this will occur is that the soil is full of nutrients which will allow the 100 percent to grow more with the ones with the soil. The null hypothesis is that there will be no change in plant growth of soil compared to sand. The alternative hypothesis is there will be change in plant growth between soil and sand.
Wisconsin Fast plants are further known to be identified as Brassica rapa which has become a widely used undergraduate tool for the short generation time.(Cogbill,Faulcon; and others.2010). To fully grow these plants need the nutrients from the potting mix, constant …show more content…

The pots are set up as control, treatment 1, treatment 2, treatment 2, and treatment 3. The control was 100 percent soil, treatment 1 are sand, treatment 2 is 50 percent soil, 50 percent is sand, and the treatment 3 is 75 percent and 25 percent. Every pot had three seeds a filter paper to keep the soil, and water inside the pot. The plants were watered every weekday with miracle grow. These plants were under lights for 24 hours too.
Results:
We found out that the control 100 percent soil, treatment 3 which was 75 percent soil with 20 percent sand grew more than treatment 2 which was 50 percent soil with 50 percent sand or treatment 1 which was the one with 100 percent sand. The 100 percent grow to a larger extent than the 75 percent. The 50 percent soil with 50 percent soil grew more than the 100 percent sand which that had not grown a lot. None of the plants had grown any flowers when the experiment was done just buds
