Aldous Huxley, the author of Brave New World, titled the book in reference to the play The Tempest by William shakespeare. This quote is used by John in chapter 11 to express his opinions on the World State. When John sees the identical Epsilons, Deltas, and Gammas, and the systematical work they do, John is disgusted. He says, “O brave new world that has such people in it” (pg 160), repeating Miranda’s words from The Tempest. In the tempest, a girl named Miranda has been living in an isolated island, and has never seen a man aside from her father.

Outline Prompt 1. Body Paragraph 1: Topic: Pleasure Quote: "Orgy-porgy," the dancers caught up the liturgical refrain, "Orgy-porgy, Ford and fun, kiss the girls…" And as they sang, the lights began slowly to fade—to fade and at the same time to grow warmer, richer, redder, until at last they were dancing in the crimson twilight of an Embryo Store. Red is an important color here, remember when Foster declared that embryos are like photographic film and they can only stand red light.
The major theme that dominated most of the chapter was the exploration and the colonization of land. European’s endeavors to expand its state and seek economic resources in the past molded the modern day global society. Europe’s explorations were solely economic based; the will to impose their beliefs and obtain as much as possible. Europe benefited the most of all the explorers at the cost of many others.
In Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, there are many characters who don’t fit in socially in the World State. The protagonist, Bernard Marx, is stuck in between conforming to the World State’s standards, yet questioning inwardly due to his own views and values. Bernard doesn’t fit in with the rest of the Alphas due to the fact that he believes what they’re doing is wrong. He feels alienated from others, yet has a bit of a desire to be “normal”. The pressure of others is what allows Bernard to give in to the World State and not rebel against his own beliefs Bernard doesn’t approve of what the World State is doing, yet he is done what is expected of him.

Overall, the Island is very suspenseful. The movie contains large amounts of action. The Island should have less car crashing scenes because it loses the overall goal of spreading the news about Dr.Merrick’s experiment. The Movie should also show Jordan Two Deltas match in person instead of the bulletin board. The Island connects to several dystopian novels.
Synthesis Essay #3: “Our Direction: A Brave New World” Paralyzingly forbidding lifelessness filled the callous laboratories, where embryos were genetically engineered and conditioned for their caste and occupation. In this dystopian society, concepts and principles, such as individuality, tranquility, reclusion, marriage, love, and diversity, are tremendously neglected. This is the picture that Aldous Huxley paints in his satiric book Brave New World, in which the society turns to the drug soma to fix a majority of their problems, isolates threats, such as innovative outcasts, on islands away from the main populations, and spends all its time being “happy.” Though Huxley’s depiction may not portray the future, which we now call our modern
This entire world is hell, we live in fear and the constant series of brutal events that break us until we can't fucking move. The world isn't nice, the world was never ment to be nice. We have changed it, destroyed it, destroyed each other, but where does it end. When people say seize the moment. Does it even work that way, because it seems the moment seizes us.
Using the dystopian novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and the political philosophy that John Locke presents, a good society is one where people are free to express themselves, as long as they do not violate the “property” of others to the extent that it impedes their liberty (Locke). In the Brave New World, a society where government establishes totalitarian control to attain stability, human expression is muted and along with it, progress in society stagnated. Therefore to create a good society, government should chiefly administer laws and execute according punishments that aim to preserve the “property” of the people (Locke). The society in the ‘Brave New World’ is a bad one, because government has through totalitarian control
Multiple authors have different meanings towards their work with their storyline. However they all have something in common which is the idea of a “quest”. A quest consist of five things, “a quester, a place to go,a stated reason to go there, challenge and trail, a real reason to go there” Foster pg.3 Thomas C.
