As one of the most successful and influential men all over the world, the legendary Steve Jobs had always devoted himself into the area of education. As an appealing elocutionist himself, Jobs made a commencement speech which entitled ‘How to live before you die’ at Stanford University, inspiring and enlighting countless young people, who are about to enter adulthood, showing them the way towards success. Jobs told three stories in his speech. The first one is called ‘Connecting the Dots’. He discussed how his parents adopted him and then explained why he attended college only for a short amount of time. After six months in college, Jobs discovered that he couldn’t find the value of college while spending the money his parents had saved for their entire life, he decided to drop out. ‘Love and Loss’ tells the story of Jobs being fired when the finest product of his company, the Macintosh had just been released. Jobs explained that one of the most important and happiest things to discover is what you love doing at a young age. Although he was fired by the company he started, Jobs did not think it was the end of the world. He still loved what he did, so he started over again, creating two companies which later both turned out to be great successes. At last, he dramatically returned to Apple and reached another peak in his life. He said some things might taste like awful medicine, but they were good for you. Losing will play a significant role in anyone’s life, so when encountering obstacles, only by continuing the things you love and not giving up, you are to a brighter future.
