Bullying is a problem that is not only in the United States, but all over the world. Bullying is a crime that is not subjected to one pathway to be carried on. There are many forms of bullying that many people are unaware of in the United States. Race, gender, sexuality, wealth class, and religion are some of the topics that are picked out to “bully” people for and in most cultures it is just something that they have gotten used to. An example of the religious aspect of bullying was after 9/11 when Islamophobia started to appear. After the attacks on the world trade center in 2001 Americans, persecuted Muslims because they feared that the Muslims were starting to attack Americans. (Alman 1)” This example shows that the bullying is not just in one area of the United States, but all over the country. In New York, fifteen students at a middle school were caught harassing a student calling her “bomb baby” and “towel head”. Religious bullying is one of the worst forms of bullying because it is aimed towards a specific religious view, and it is not always because the religion did something negative towards the person that bullies, but because they do not see things the same way as them. Cyberbullying is bullying in which the use of technology is a major part. The bully can use computers, cell phones, text messages, social media, and many other forms to get to the target and harass them. The reason cyberbullying is such a major problem is that the bullies can be almost anywhere in the world and bully their victims. This form of bullying is one of the hardest forms to prevent, but thanks to trace abilities, law enforcement agencies can track the bullies down and have evidence. (Couvillon
