The internet is a fantastic resource for many, allowing individuals to share, send, and obtain information and has changed the way our generation is able to do research and communicate. The internet has also changed the way companies search for employees as well as how employees search for work. Certain business social media sites have allowed individuals to promote themselves as well as have their professional contacts promote them as well as their skills online in order to reach desirable employment. In this brief essay I will compare and contrast two business social media sites and evaluate their features and functionality. Social networking has hit the world by storm. It has changed the way we connect with others and has made many changes in how we do business and search for business. In Ryze it seemed that things were kept a bit more impersonal and I did not feel as if I was able to embellish my skills. LinkedIn also makes it easier to find contacts where as I had one heck of a time figuring out how to search for contacts on Ryze. Another difference between LinkedIn and Ryze is that you can see which contacts are first contacts or if they are 2nd or 3rd contacts meaning are they a contact I added and know or if I added them through someone else.
