Colin Allard July 16, 2023 SKELETON Recommendation Report PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF REPORT This recommendation report serves as a business proposition to Global Minds, accentuating the benefits, drawbacks, and implementations that would result from partnering with Feeding South Florida. Global Minds is a high-end grocery market chain that has taken over South Florida, with locations strategically placed in high income areas such as Brickell or east Boca Raton. Feeding South Florida is the regional nonprofit association for the national organization Feeding America. Partnering with this nonprofit would provide a variety of benefits for Global Minds on the corporate, employee, and consumer level. In June of 2023, Feeding South Florida announced that the organization is “currently facing a $500,000 shortfall in purchased food used to support those facing food insecurity and hunger” (Murray, 2023). If Global Minds were to donate a mix of food and monetary contributions, not only would this provide opportunities for tax deductions, but would likely result in positive publicity for our corporation amongst the community. Additionally, nurturing this partnership also ensures that Global Minds is at the forefront for recovering the community after natural disasters. During the week following the devastating hurricane named Ian, Feeding South Florida was able to deliver and dispatch over four thousand meals to Southwest Florida (Doss & Gomez, 2022). Being able to create such a large impact on the community assures our customers that we care about what matters most. Since Feeding South Florida heavily relies on both food and monetary donations, Global Minds has options when it comes to choosing how to support. One of the most obvious ways to implement this partnership is by making a large donation to the organization. In doing so, we would be ensuring that we are providing appropriate assistance, and that our donation is actively working to better the community. Another way Global Minds could implement this partnership is through the use of food drives and donating any groceries that have the potential to go to waste. Fortunately, in 1996, president Bill Clinton signed the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act, which “Protects [Global Minds] from civil and criminal liability should the product donated in good faith later cause harm to the recipient” (Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act,
