CVS Health is a dominant peace of the healthcare puzzle. For over half a century, CVS Health has been committed to their customers, clients and communities. AS of the current year, CVS Health boasts over 9,600 CVS Pharmacy Store locations, more than 1,100 MinuteClinic Locations, 1.9 Billion Prescriptions filled and 39% of the past five-year market prescription growth. Along with their focus on reinventing pharmacies, they also offer Prescription Benefit management and serves more than 75 million plans members. All of these factors contribute to the enormous success of the CVS Health corporation as a whole. CVS Health prides itself on initiatives such as the “Be The First” Campaign and also partners with managed health care companies to provide paramount care at affordable costs. One example is a recent partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. By opening a CarePlus CVS/pharmacy at the BCBST campus CVS Health is able to service the needs of the BCBST employees while keeping out-of-pocket costs and overall health care costs low (BCBST/CVS, 2009, p. 11). As for corporate social responsibility, CVS Health has a program in place which “asks participants to pay a $50 deposit, which they will get back upon successfully completing the program. They are also rewarded with $700 from the company” (700 good reasons, 2015, p. 20). This sets the standard that those associated with CVS Health strive to live a healthier life. Additionally, CVS Health launched a five-year, $50 Billion campaign in which they will educate the newest generation of the dangerous of tobacco with hopes of moving closer towards a tobacco-free generation. They unveil this campaign just two years after being the first national pharmacy to discontinue the selling of cigarettes and tobacco products in September of 2014.
