For this discussion I will be defining the nurse’s scope of practice based on our reading assignment and describe the California nurse’s scope of practice. I will also describe my experience as a student during clinical where I believe I applied the California nurse’s scope of practice. Lastly, I will provide my opinion on why I believe every nurse should be aware of their state’s nursing scope of practice.
The American Nurses Association (2010) book states that the nurse’s scope of practice is a guide or a set of regulations to deliver safe care to clients. Assessment, Standard. 2. Diagnosis and Standard 3. Outcome Idenification (American Nurses Association, 2010). I presented my plan to the nurse in order to get feedback as well as acquire more information that I could give the client. So there was always a constant of communicating back and forth with the nurse. Once again covering standard 13. The education that I continually provided to the clients was based on my knowledge
