¨Wham!¨ The mallet smashed onto the board leaving the people in silence. The judge glanced down from his spectacles and proclaimed that Stanley either goes to Camp Green Lake or prison. Stanley Yelnats was an overweight kid who was often insulted for his size. He was poor and believes that he is cursed. He was arrested about three weeks ago for stealing the famous baseball playerś shoes. Those shoes were auctioned for a bid which would sell for over 5 thousand dollars. The shoes so happened to fall on Stanley´s head, while he was walking home from school. He was arrested later that day.Back at court, Stanley made his decision of going to Camp Green Lake, but he didn't know the irony of the name of Camp Green Lake, or that it was actually a camp for bad boys. Stanley was shy and exploited, but his adventures at Camp Green Lake has led him to be bolder and fearless. …show more content…

Stanley still doesn´t defend himself against the harsh things that people say. Some people take a step further and start to hurt him outside of school.¨Back at school, a bully named Derrick Dune, used to torment Stanley,¨(Sachar 23.) Many people laugh at Stanley for his terrible decisions and his so called fate.He has never tried to protect himself in anyway. Many people also abandon Stanley and leave him alone.His character and other people's judgements, has led to him be lonely.¨He didn't have any friends at home,¨(Sachar 7.)This is no surprise, due to the fact that he is not liked by anyone. He never goes up to someone and asks to be there friend, because he is just to scared and shy to do it, but during his encounters with the warden and the boys ,he has become braver and is starting to improve his
