Sir Lamorak was the brother of Percival, another member of the Round Table and was well known for having a blazing temper. It is also said that one multiple occasions he had fought off thirty knights at the same time. Surprisingly, though he was only the third best knight, right behind Lancelot and Tristan. Simon’s role in Lord of the Flies is to resemble a Christ-like figure, when he eventually dies, the buried savagery in the boys is revealed. Simon is killed in a gruesome matter, which at the time the boys had “leapt on to beast, screamed, bit, struck, tore” (Golding 153).
