I can truthfully credit my goal setting abilities and successes to the Carlson School of Management. Through both the opportunities it presents and the experiences it awards its students, I found myself excited and forward looking when it came to benchmarking my career academically, socially, and culturally. I have been able to create and improve my four-year academic plan, successfully expand my social and professional network, and collaborate with students coming from countries all around the world. And as I look forward through my goals, I apprehend the boundless opportunities for advancement. My great grandmother was born in Spain, and although she only lived there for under a decade, she used to tell us stories of its beautiful architecture, culture, geography, and people. Being able to visit where my great grandmother grew up as a child would help me better understand both my heritage and grandmother’s upbringing. In addition to family ties, having the ability to both study and tour Madrid and Barcelona would help stimulate my interests in cross-cultural, international, and comparative learning. Being able to study in and explore both the largest metropolis located on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona, and the 3rd largest city in the European Union, Madrid, would help immerse me into the Spanish culture. Spain’s highly regarded art exhibits also house some of the most beautiful, yet mentally stimulating pieces of artistic work in Europe. Not only is art entertaining to admire, but it also serves as an accurate representation of social and cultural norms both currently and historically. Spain’s fostering of the three famous art galleries in Madrid, commonly referred to as the “Golden Triangle” can be compared to a cultural time machine, that I would love to
