I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
I am interested in becoming a TK assistant teacher at Providence Day School. I will be graduating from Queens University of Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education on May 6, 2017. I am currently completing my student teaching in first-grade at Sharon Elementary School.
Without a doubt, OU-HCOM provides an excellent medical education with numerous learning opportunities for research and clinical work at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital. The unique location of OU-HCOM in Cleveland, an urban area with a diverse patient population will expose me to countless experiences that will help mold me into a more well-rounded, compassionate, and skilled physician. I want a school in an urban environment with a diverse patient population that will prepare me to practice medicine in a similar setting. Being a Volunteer at Beaumont Hospital, I was privileged to work with diverse groups of volunteers and people. I converse with them and develop new friendships that exposed me to many traditions and cultures I had been unaware of.
Similar to other immigrants my family history is somewhat compelling. Starting with my grandfather who was exiled out of Egypt in 1959 primarily as a result of the "decolonization process and the rise of Egyptian nationalism”, my immediate family and I also left France in 2004 as a result of rising tension against Jews. The migration of my grandparents and parents, from a young age, cultivated a sense of determination in me to overcome obstacles. Arriving in Miami at age 5, I had to learned my third language, English, in order to attend school. I was determined to and successfully lost my accent and got tested into the gifted program after a year of school.
Edmonds Community College and it’s employees operate many caring and unique academic and student support programs to help students to “be successful” in college courses, obtain gainful employment and transferring to universities, but in the past, Edmonds has been too busy doing the tasks involved in running programs to carefully assess and describe the powerful effectiveness of its programs. Every day, I come to work thinking of ways to improve how students gain access to information about attending college, complete a degree or certificate and secure employment or transfer to a university. I have earned two graduate degrees in School Counseling and Community Counseling. My entire professional career has been dedicated to improving the lives of people through education. In addition to my enthusiasm for working with students and the public, I am interested in collecting information and reporting on institutional processes to inform improvements in outcomes for students such as the accessibility of information, communication from college programs, fuller utilization of support programs by students and

Ever since I started high school, the question of where I was going to college was in my mind. Selecting a college was tough because they all seemed the same from the outside. I scoured through all the colleges in the state and compared them to me and what I wanted. Hunting for the correct college for me came down to the little things. I unfailingly love South Carolina with the beautiful scenery it provides.

• Please discuss your personal and professional reasons for applying to the program. (250 words or less) * Growing up, I saw my father come home after a long day of working in the fields with sweat on his face, and weaknesses in his bones. The worst days were the ones where he would feel sharp excruciating pain in his knees, and there was nothing he could do about it, other than to endure it. Although I was little, it was in that moment that I knew what I wanted to do in my life. Seeing my parents unable to have or afford healthcare inspired me to pursue a career in medicine, at a young age, I immediately started planning on opening my own hospital and offering health care for those who cannot afford it.
Malcolm X said, “ Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” The meaning of this quote is that if you have education and you go to school and learn you will have a better future. If you prepare yourself now and learn, tomorrow you would become better person. Without of knowledge you cannot accomplish anything. I decided to college so I can became better person tomorrow.
All along, I have managed to maintain the principles of ethics and integrity, a strong sense of purpose, and morality, which binds me rigidly. Appointment as student leader in all stages of my school and college life has presented me with opportunity to interact with people, develop organizational and communication skills. In every sports game, people root for the teams they like; their ways of rooting can range from yelling to professional one called cheerleading. Cheerleading has a long history just as other sports. Cheerleading does not exist to simply motivate the team, but also makes audience and the game itself interesting. That is the reason why it should be considered as one of the sports. Although many do not see cheerleading as a sport, it is definitely considered as sport, as it requires intense physical activity, entertains people, and unites players.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
I can vividly remember the advice given to me by my high school counselor. I was broken down, whispering to myself that I was not college bound. It was my counselor who made me realize that persistence was a key factor to continuing my education. The wisdom that was shared to me that day was instilled into my mind and was endorsed in my heart. I want to be the person that gives a glimpse of hope to students that need an extra push through education, just like it was given to me.
