1. Organization Overview
Comcast is an American mass media conglomerate and is the largest cable and broadcasting corporation in the world by revenue. Comcast processes a large number of customer payments each day from various sources (credit cards, bank accounts, etc.). The acceptance of these payments is of the highest priority to ensure the safe, secure, and accurate collection of the customers’ money. Since the payments can come from many various sources, it is a complex system to monitor and ensure all systems are operational 24x7x365. The direct business unit that we would be working with is the Comcast Application Platform and Services, with the specific group being Comcast Payment Services.

It is of the utmost importance that Comcast is able to accept these payments in a safe, secure, and also accurate way. Since the payments can come from so many different sources, it is vital that the system(s) are operational 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This way Comcast hopes to more easily monitor the overall status of the payments, especially by their senior executives. Because our solution would allow multiple people to view the status of payments instead of one person who has to alert other people whenever an issue arises, we can expect to decrease the amount of time that is spent delaying the process by 50%.
5. Project Overview
The first stage of our project will involve interviewing our project stakeholders to best understand the requirements and the end goal of our project. The next stage is market research. Our team will conduct research of current market applications that could help solve Comcast’s problem. We will then send all of this research to our customer and then decide on a template. If we are lucky, there will be an app that will be sufficient in solving this problem. The next step is to work with test data from Comcast to integrate it with this application. Once we have a working prototype of the new system of data presentation, we will present it to our customer. Next, we will test the new integration system with multiple different types of test data to insure accuracy. Finally, we will develop a plan of introducing the new system on a company-wide scale and
