Dogertown is a town that use to be named Chavez Ravine. People were debating about the name change because some held the name close to their heart. In 1949 the local goverment decided to place low income houses where the poor neighborhood was. They were ordered to leave. They were promised new housing to mollify the neighborhood.
In “Teaching a Bad Dog New Tricks,” David Buetow, a single independent man, explains how he believes in his dog teaching him new tricks. Buetow before having Duncan considered himself “street smart” (42) shyly avoiding eye contact with people he didn’t know or think he wanted to know. Duncan changed all that now Buetow started to smile at others he didn’t know or even greet others too, when his dog Duncan stopped to say hello.
The Pickaway Center continues to enjoy our Volunteer Opportunity at the Ross County Dog shelter. The dogs have gotten so use to us coming that they all stand waiting by their cage doors when we enter the back room. When the weather is nice we enjoy taking them for walks, playing fetch our just relaxing with them under the shade tree. We then will come in and make sure the dogs have plenty of fresh water and that their cage area has been cleaned out. Before leaving we make sure to pass out treats and give them one last hug before seeing them

The play Dog Act is an unconventional play written in a post-apocalyptic setting during which the main characters Zetta and Dog are on an adventure to see "China," a famous region in the world at the time of the play. Liz Duffy Adams, the playwright, wrote the play and relayed her blueprints, the script, to directors Mandy Fox and Joe Kopyt, who worked with designers to create and present a world of their own imagination based on Adams ' script. The unique interpretation included eccentric costumes for each character, bold yet subtle implications toward sexuality and gender, as well the moving storylines executed well by the actors. The costumes a character wears are often indicative of their personality, class, and their overall characterization.
On 11/26/17, at approximately10:47am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to 3269 E. 12th on on a dog at large, patrol only. Although the dogs posed challenges, the outcome of the dog situation is what the family needs. Skeet and Randall are having a conversation about China and her puppies. They talk about how much money they can make off of selling the puppies and how Skeetah plans on spending it. Skeet goes on to say, “If my dogs live, I can make eight hundred dollars off them.” For this family, eight hundred dollars is huge.
I will always remember my dog, Tootsie, fondly. The first night that we had her, she woke me up in the middle of the night. I should have been upset, but as I sat and held her, I knew that she would be an important part of my life. She was always there when I was growing up, happy to see me and ready to play with her stuffed baseball. She was there at family events like Christmas and Thanksgiving, brightening up people’s holidays.
Robert Olen Butler, a fiction writer, enjoys that he is able to create a story in which it can take any route. When he says, “Fiction is ultimately the art form of human yearning” he is referring to his own work in a sense. One of his texts, “Fairy Tale,” tells about a nonstandard fairytale. A Vietnamese immigrant comes to the United States and works as a prostitute as she is trying to make a living for herself in her new home (“Fairy Tale” 1). Miss Noi ultimately meets her prince charming and ends up living in “a nice little house and she is a housewife with a toaster machine” (“Fairy Tale” 7).
Arguably America’s most beloved drink of all; beer, is shared and drank for many various occasions worldwide. Budweiser, a well know beer company around the globe, released a gratifying commercial during one of the most watched events nationwide; The Super Bowl. Their commercial, “Puppy Love,” first aired in 2015, and pulled the heart strings of all beer and/or animal lovers worldwide. Using tactics such as showing the bond of relationships, expressing the American dream, and emotionally conveying a story that reaches viewers’ emotions with a powerful message that every human being can relate to in an extremely clever presentation showcasing a puppy and a horse was very brilliant. Most people have a soft spot for puppies and many others are accustomed to Budweiser’s symbolic mascot, Clydesdales horses.
Q3 S5 IR Timed Write “Human tragedies: we all want to be extraordinary and we all just want to fit in. Unfortunately, extraordinary people rarely fit in.” (Sebastyne Young).
Conformist V.S Nonconformist “Four legs good, two legs bad” is what the animals on Animal Farm by George Orwell lived by. Snowball and The Dogs was the animals on the farm that helped enforce this rule. Snowball is a pig that challenges Napoleon for control of Animal Farm after the rebellion. Snowball won the loyalty of the animals but Napoleon won the farm.
Abortion: Whose Choice is it? What if I told you that you were going to become the next NFL star or the next astronaut or the next doctor to solve cancer. How would you feel if someone took that right away from you? How would you feel if someone took away your choice to live?
Justice for Dogs Have you ever seen a dog alone in the streets? And you want to pick them up and drop them off to the shelter but don’t have the time? Rather than picking up the dogs and dropping them off, you can help the poor animals from the very beginning. The little things like adopting a dog rather than buy a dog makes a huge difference.
Ultimately, the tragic failure of Pets.com was because of a lack of market knowledge, mismanagement of funds and overestimating the power of internet which they became too reliant upon. I believe Pets.com was incapable of looking at their own company externally. If they were asked what industry are we in? Pets.com’s answer would be something like the ecommerce business rather than the home and pet industry. This is a similar example to the company Kodak as they failed to adapt to the fast-paced market and only looked at themselves internally and didn’t adjust to the digital age.
