We are writing in connection with Brannon and Shana Hogan’s move to your congregation. Brother and Sister Hogan lived in our area for a number of years and attended meetings briefly when they first arrived. When asked why they stopped Brannon mentioned in his previous congregation he was given too much responsibility too soon. This was made worse by his tendency to be a perfectionist which caused him emotional stress. He was afraid by returning to meetings he would find himself back in the same situation.
Lawton, a rural town of 3000 residents, recently experienced a highway diversion that isolated the town, causing a sharp drop in the number of visitors. While the Lawton community welcomes the peace, it has caused concern for the economic future of the town. In response to this, the mayor of the town, Cr Alexandra Wiley, published a column in the Lawton’s local newspaper attempting to persuade the residents of Lawton the town needs revitalization in order to maintain financial stability. Wiley contends that Lawton is “on the way to being a ghost town” and they should build a “spectacular piece of architecture” to boost tourism.
“Ahh that felt good”, I thought to myself after I helped a little kid find his mother because he was lost. Helpful is when you help someone do something that they cannot do on their own. In my two stories, I picked Connie and Arn both show that they are helpful in their own way, but Arn is the most helpful. One reason why Arn is considered helpful is because he said, “This guy Mek, he decided to live because of what I say, now I know it’s my job to keep him living. ”(McCormick page 58).
Source A describes that people living off-grid might choose to live off the grid as they believe it will positively impact the environment as they will be sustainably using energy as they would use less for the same amount of usage and the grid causes “global warming, pollution, drained aquifers, the devastating effects of fracking”. Negating that statement, source E describes living off-grid as “more toward aspiration than reality” as “most off-grid people were still enjoying the benefits of the global economy”. Despite using less energy than an average household on the grid as expressed in source C, living off-grid and relying on grocery stores and phones still negatively impact the environment. Both industries greatly contribute to global warming. Grocery stores get supplies from trucks carrying produce and supplies across the country by using fossil fuels, and meat products also greatly contribute to global warming and pollution through animal waste and transportation.
Captain Phillip arrived at Sydney Cove on the 26th of January 1788, with instructions to establish a British colony. Governor Arthur Phillip was aware that the Aboriginal people would be unsympathetic to the British, but he wanted to establish friendly relations so that both the British and the Indigenous people could live happy a peacefully lives. At Botany Bay, Captain Phillip was opposed by the Aboriginals that lived in the area. Unlike Captain Cook who had shot at the Aboriginal people, Phillip had put down his weapons and they did the same. Connection with the Indigenous people at Botany Bay from that time was tense but friendly.
As you know our company has been dealing with Midwest Sparkleen for the past four years. We currently have a contract in place that makes your company responsible for the cleaning of all PolicyPlan offices. I appreciate the excellent interior and exterior cleaning work from your company over the last four years. Since your company had a shift in ownership last year, I noticed that your service has declined. The offices in my building are no longer being cleaned to previous standard.
Some Oklahomans who don’t want digital smart meters to measure electricity usage at their homes and communicate that data with the power provider using cellular technology could be allowed to opt out of the program — if they are willing to pay to make that choice. A proposal by Public Service Co. of Oklahoma to allow for that option cleared a hurdle this week when an administrative law judge at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission recommended its approval. Next, the judge’s recommendation will be reviewed by the commission’s elected three-person board.
At this moment, Ofglen and Offred emerge into yet another adventure together, however, this time bonds are formed. This mutual trust initiates through Ofglen asking Offred whether she believes God actually listens to the machines. With such a risky answer, Offred says no and in that one-word answer, they both realized that they can trust in one another. (R): This passage is efficient in providing the audience the idea that no matter the tyrannical power upheld, there will always be one or a group of people against such reign. Even if the ruler(s) aren’t necessarily evil, there will always be some form of opposition.
In his public lecture “Bronze Beaked Ships and the Reality of Naval Warfare,” Dr. William Murray argues that each major ancient Mediterranean power built and maintained navies, as control of the sea was crucial for maintaining control of the Mediterranean. Therefore, it is necessary to study ancient naval warships and technologies to understand more about these powers. However, since the only significant archaeological evidence we have from actual warships are bronze-cast rams, Murray concludes that we must use every available technology to study and analyze these rams, to more fully understand ancient naval warfare. Navies are just as expensive and difficult to maintain now as during ancient times.
Pop art era originated in New York during the mid-1950s and ended in the early 1970s. It focused on familiar places in citizen’s day to day life, creating commercial images and during this time Pop art boomed because of the media World War II was receiving. Roy Lichtenstein’s painting “WHAAM!” would mostly fall under the category of the Pop art era for the reasons being that it is based on an image from a DC comic “All American Man of War” which was published by DC comics in 1962. Lichtenstein presented a powerfully charged scene in an impersonal manner, leaving the viewer to decipher the meaning for themselves. The painting is in a comic style of art (Pop Art) and depicts two fighter jets (one owned by the United States the other owned by the Soviet Union) in the air with one shooting a missile towards the other jet with a humongous “WHAAM!”
This little excerpt from the article shows just how dangerous the job is. The man’s coworkers had to use fire extinguishers to stop him from turning to ash. The article also says that 80% of his body was burned. Electricity is so dangerous to deal with, and things can go lethal quickly. Linemen are very helpful after storms, accidents, and much more.
