Causes Of The Civil War The Civil War, the bloodiest War in American history, had many causes that turned brother against brother. The issue of slavery was the largest conflict between the North and the South. The South was upset with how the government up north was run. All these conflicts eventually lead to succession, and the war began. Slavery was a big part in why the war began. There where many disputes between the North and South, about how slavery should be legal or illegal. The north didn’t like slavery and thought it wasn’t right because your race doesn’t mean you can’t have relation, and the south thought slavery was right because they weren’t a particular race, and thought whites where more superior than blacks. Many slaves started to runaway from their slave plantations and people apart of a group called conductors (from the underground railroad) took them in and helped and cared for them. The south started to complain about this problem, so they made a law to where if you found a run away slave u must return to the owner and if you didn’t the federal government would enforce arrest. Later the South made it able to where they could bring their slaves to any states because they claimed it was their property, and this basically was causing it to where all states where slave states …show more content…

The North had made money from huge manufacturing factories while the south had to depended on building things for its main income. The north had much more supplies also because the supplies where mainly from different countries and this made it to where the north was able to produce goods, where to the South got a tiny amount, and the supplies that were sent from other countries to the south made it to where every time that happened the south got taxed a huge
