People can be evil. This event can be seen in the news every day, as evidence of human beings' tendency toward violence and destruction. But when it comes to kids, they’re supposed to be more innocent. Peer pressure and the use of technology, also play a large factor in human beings' tendency to become more violent and are more likely to post these evil acts on their social media pages. The Columbine Massacre was one of the first school shootings in American history and can be titled a tragedy to this given day. The Massacre was carried out by Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17 on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. The damages and loss that the boys caused to families, friends, and the community of Littleton Community. Many people were injured, and almost all of them wanted to seek legal help. In total, 13 innocent people lost their lives, and “Close to three dozen families of Columbine victims settle suits with the parents of the suspects and gun suppliers.” (Belknap) Before the boys killing spree, they “made home videos before the attack making references to what they were going to do and apologizing to their parents for it.” (Fleming) This idea is a prime example of how these newly evil boys were once innocent and …show more content…

This was also proven through intensive studies on Harris and his brain chemistry. While applying for the Marines, “a recruiter found out from Harris's parents that he had been prescribed a mood-altering drug.” (Brockell) Not only in Harris’ brain but also in Klebold, “the state of their mental health did play a key role in their actions. … with investigations into the many warning signs and of Klebold and Harris behavior, psychologists ruled Harris a psychopath and Klebold was diagnosed with severe depression disorder” (Bernall) These boys were severely messed up and many people overlooked their mental illnesses, even people such as “President Clinton failed to recognize, along with many others, was the presence of mental illness and mental health struggles Klebold and Harris were experiencing amid the various warning signs their behavior exhibited.” (Brockell) In the end, if they were looked after and loved, plenty of people could have predicted this horrible
