With countries having high weapons and military power, this would lead to the countries using the resources they have to an advantage to not just let it all go to waste. Such as in the growth of armaments which is the growth of military weapons, many of the countries started to upgrade their military systems such as Germany. By “1914 German would be able to field 1.2 million men”(DK), with all this manpower all Germany would wish to do is use it to show that they have the most power and that no one would be able to take over their country or even hurt them. When countries have a larger more powerful Military, the chances of them going to war would be higher because they would want to show off all the military power that the country holds. The amount land of that the countries take over would lead to them having a higher power. The reason to this is because when countries have more land they are able to take the resources from those lands and use them to their advantage. Once people see that the county is powerful because of the land that they have taken over then they might become a target to go at war with another country. For instance “either France will become a great African power or in a century or two she will be no more than a secondary European power.”(DQ). France took over Africa and it is their land but it's either that they stay ruler of Africa through land or someone fights them in war to try to take away their power, and if they lose that war then they will lose a lot of their power and possibly drop so low they won't be a country with little to any power at all anymore. Britain had a population of “400,000,000 colonies and an area of 33,000,000 sq km”(DP) with this large population and large amount of land they were the highest power during the time of the beginning of the war but they wouldn't stop there they would continue to go and get more land because there's never enough power countries have
