The children been working on beginning letter sounds and this lesson is a new learning strategy to reinforce the concept in a fun and appealing song that help reproduce the sound patterns. Have been working with ELL students on letter sounds at beginning of words. Been going over the farmer in the del song and naming the animals on the farm as background knowledge and something to relate to the children to see the sound at the beginning match the animals.
Students will be observed by the teacher as they are singing the song and making the beginning letter sounds. The teacher will be looking for the correct pronunciation of each word and sound isolations.
1. Children will be at the circle rug finishing the morning meeting of the day.
2. Tell the children they are going to learn a new song that will help them with their letter sounds. (Ell students are familiar with the original tunes before starting)
3. Tell the students to listen to the song and see if they can figure out the answer.
4. When going over a different letter, put out the letter flip chart that has letters with pictures that start with the same letter. Have the page on the letter that is being sung on top.
5. Sing the song to the class.

The students that need extra help, I will work in small groups with each student while the other students work independently on the letter of the week. Children will be for pictures that start with the letter of the week out of books or drawing picture to go with the letter. I will work with student that need extra help and the ELL students on the correct way to pronounce the sounds of the letters. We will go over the word rings that are made and the ELL students use at circle time. The letter rings can go home with the children so they can practice at
