This communication and the use of the phone is entirely up to the user, and if not used for its purposes can be a problem. For an example, when a student is allowed on their phone they can feel like they can do anything they want, so when asked to have it put away the student can be more likely to ignore the teacher. Do we really have to ban something which was already part of the school system? A simple answer to all of those questions is no. Although some schools don’t think cell phone usage should be allowed in a classroom.
