The censorship of freedom of speech in this country is, in my opinion unconstitutional. Futhermore, it contradicts the very beliefs we hold true in this nation that america is the so called “home of the brave and and of the free.” In the free world, when our very own liberties are violated we, as Americans, should not put up with it, especially in a country like ours, where these same civil liveries were the same ones that this nation is built upon. This issue is particularly relevant in the modern world with young people at college campuses and universities These emerging men as well as women, are the same people who will someday be working for this great nation, voting in this great nation, living in this great nation, and governing this great nation. Their short lived time in higher education should be a time when they are permitted to try out new ideas, reestablish the values that they have been raised with, and to discover new ways of thinking. …show more content…

These people too make mistakes, along the way they too might make choices that they later will regret. On the flip side, they might possibly finally be able to speak freely and learn new ways of thinking more openly. Any way around it, the fact remains that these young people should have to opportunity to express themselves freely and openly without judgement. Any alteration of these rights is a direct hinderance of the very nature of the education system which is fundamentally the idea of teaching students new ideas and concepts. Students should be permitted to communicate their opinions about the world they are entering, freely, and without limitation. Students must be able to express their beliefs without a fear of being retaliated
