Ever wanted to go against authority? Challenging authority is always a brave thing to do considering that they are supposed to be the top dog. Those who stand up to authority for the right reason are brave and I greatly admire them. For example, Katniss off the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins; shows great bravery when herself and Peeta decide that they do not want to give the Peacekeeper; nor the government what they want. What the government does as a form of entertainment, to the people, is wrong and inhumane. Katniss and her partner Peeta end up being the only two people left in the competition and the bad thing is that there can only be one victor. After all the fighting and twenty-two people being killed, they still end up being the two who survived. They both had life changing experiences though out the entire battle so to speak. They had to kill in order to survive and it is somewhat of a disturbing game. In the end of the game either Peeta or Katniss had to win, but Katniss comes up with an idea. There are some poisonous berries that they kept to try and get the other competitors to consume them. Consuming the berries means certain death within seconds. Katniss takes the berries from her bag, gives Peeta a handful and keeps a handful for herself. She does not agree with what the Capitol (Government) is doing so she and Peeta agree to eat the berries at the same time to not let the Capitol have what they want. This then results in both of them becoming victors and them cheating the game. This creates a revolution, and because their actions are what give the people to believe that they too can go against what the Capitol wants. This results in a huge upraising which continues to get
