The use of electronic health records and the constant change in the health care delivery system has forced the professionals in that department to work extra hard and smarter. Generally we all know that too much work leads to stress and as much as we try without rest our brain and body can’t do anything. In everything we do working harder and smarter is the key to any job and for the good job to be done well, health information managers and directors have to assist all departmental members. And by doing so, leaders have to practice the organizational theory that will help them in solving the problems where necessary. Sector Changes Changes occur in every level of the health sector simply because of the new technology where changes take place from paper-based environment to an electronic environment. Socioeconomic events, cultural shifts, all of this affect the economy and regulations. HIS department’s managers and directors have come a long way to prepare for organization changes. They have implemented the International Classification of Diseases, tenth revision, Clinical Modification and Procedural Classification System. However for the readiness of the health organization, managers and directors of HIS Department will have to assess the effect of events daily and tasks given to their employee as per individual. •Principles of goals setting is applied by assisting all the departmental workers to work harder and smarter in a way that they became existed for them to meet the expected goals. •Principles of job enrichment are applied in this case at the employee level, where every employee is assigned to different duties, tasks, assignment and responsibilities.
