In chapter 15, Walt and Eric head off to the railway. They talk about the dogs being vicious but they are still important because there is many times where they saved their owners lives. They say, “A good team is often worth its weight in gold to the owner.” I think they are so important because dogs are a way to get around during the winter, and they are used for protection to scare other animals away. The group thought Walt and Eric were older because the trip took toll on their bodies making them look much older. They made it to York Factory before the twentieth, but they did not make it home.
