Within chapter 4, it focuses on the importance of Leadership and Business Excellence. According to Mike Singletary, he believed that “Nothing great ever happens until leadership shows up.” I feel what Singletary is trying to explain is that within an organization is that if there is no drive from the leader than there will be no reason at all to keep the organization to move forward. Sometimes it takes a strong leader to understand that it is extremely important to be a role model to help show your followers these proper skills that falls under leaderships such creativity & being okay with failure. With the idea of using of our leadership skills within the business setting the reader is exposed to two different leaders within two different companies. One of the leaders was Herb Kelleher, who was one of the Southwest Airlines founders and CEO from 1982 to 2001, and was a part of their executive chairman from 1978 to 2008. Kelleher had the leadership skill of creativity that had helped him take Southwest Airline off the ground and flew to great heights. The other leader we look at is the leadership position of co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, who to some believed he was a considered to be a wonderful innovator on the computer and worked well with other.
