When Wrong is Right At the end of “Of Mice and Men” George is faced with grim decision of shooting his best friend and family member Lennie to ease both of their future pains. George has known Lennie for mostly all of his life and he knew that when Lennie was dead their dream of having a house would be over. George then makes up his mind and shoots Lennie making him think if it was the right decision or it was wrong. In this case the decision was right because of many reasons with one being that Lennie would never be able to survive in the world that they live in.
The book Of Mice And Men also known as OMAM starts off with 2 men George and Lennie being dropped off a Few miles South of Soledad California, Soledad actually translates to loneliness. George was a short fellow but also was a smart man. He took care of his cousin Lennie because Lennie had autism. Lennie was a tall,strong and really hard working fella but he could kill small animals with his bare hands. The two went to a ranch looking for work since Lennie had got in trouble in a town called Weed.
John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men is the story of two migrant workers, George and Lennie, who are on a mission to live off the “fatta the lan’.” The story is based in 1930s Salinas Valley, California, and shows the troubles that George and Lennie meet while they work on a ranch to earn enough money to buy their own land. After a mishap leads to Lennie killing a rancher’s wife, George kills Lennie as an act of mercy for the safety of others and for Lennie himself. The differences and similarities between George and Lennie give light to what motivates their actions and how they function together.
It is probable that during one time or another in one’s life, there has been someone there as a guide, a guardian, a person that protects one from the outside world. To start off, In “ Of Mice and Men” written by John Steinbeck, the book itself is a winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. The two main characters, George and Lennie, are acquaintances that travel together working on different ranches. Although George is not exactly acquaintances with Lennie’s Aunt Clara, she asks George if he can watch over him and, in a way, be Lennie’s family. Therefore, George protects Lennie from getting in trouble with others to avoid getting fired from the ranches in which they work on.
In the book, it is spoken of by Lennie and George that they wish to own their very own ranch, where they can make their own paradise. When you think about it, their motivation in succeeding to get that ranch is a team effort between them both, as they rely on one another to get through life. What they see as their “dream ranch” would include, but not be limited to, their own rabbits, pigs, chickens, cows, and other wonderful things on their ranch. For instance, in chapter 3, George begins to talk about the ranch again, and what they’d be able to have or do on the ranch, as he says “all kin’s a vegetables in the garden, and if we want a little whisky we can sell a few eggs or something, or some milk. We’d just live there.
Lonley I am so lonely I have nobody to call my own” (Akon) These lyrics by Akon are going to be used to be compared to George and Lennie the two main characters in the book Mice of Men written by John Steinbeck. This first set of lyrics is related threw Lennie who is a big man that does have personal issues, He who is not very smart and if not all the time the most the time he is often alone. He is a compassionate man, but doesn't realize the strength and power he truly has. Its almost as if he needs someone constantly there for him.
I don't think Candy made the right decision in letting Carlson shoot his dog. Based on evidence from the book, Candy’s dog was very important to him. “I been around him so much i never notice he stinks. ”(44) This shows the dog has been apart of his life for a long time.
This novel Of Mice and Men is a fiction novel. This book is about two guys that are ranch workers they work at a ranch and move hay bills their names are George and Lennie. George and Lennie are very good men Lennie is very strong but doesn’t know his own strength and George is smart. George and Lennie worked at a ranch called weed but Lennie got in trouble and was wanted by the men in the ranch. George and Lennie fled and went to the riverside and hid in a brush.
You don’t know anyone truly until you step into their shoes and walk around in them. Let’s step into the shoes of both George and Lennie. George is a normal guy who works hard. He just wants to make it month by month. Lennie is George's friend since they were young.
Of Mice and Men Dreams help motivate people to keep moving forward with a goal in their life. Imagine having a mental disability at a time of the Great depression and having no one to guide you. Likely, there is George to help you to your determined path towards your dream. Lennie who suffers from a mental disease, has George to guide him. Being together since they were young, watching out for each other and striving, together, to reach their daring goal to own a ranch. Not everyone can do so!
Mice and men tell the story of 2 migrant worker, George and Lennie who have been who have been let off a bus mile away from the CA farm where they had to begin their work. George is tiny in size and a dark man with a knifelike healthy characteristic. Lennie in comparison with George is the opposite. He a big man with a formless face. Overwhelmed with thirst.

George has been thinking about leaving Lennie. Although Lennie is difficult to take care of George should stay with him. A character named Crooks tells Lennie about what people are going to do to him without George around.
As chapters go by, this “big dream” the two friends have is mentioned quite often. That big dream is not only filled with George’s dream of owning a ranch, but it is also made up of many small dreams that Lennie has. The mice in this story represent the smaller dreams Lennie has. Lennie is known to be kind of mental, not the brightest type of person, but big and strong. He’s got a soft soul on the inside, but doesn’t know his own strength.
In the tragic novel, “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck shows the true harsh reality of the novel are named George and Lennie. The novel takes the readers along George and Lennie’s journey into compete their dreams until fate disagrees with them. Fate is a force in human nature, which cannot be controlled, but if there are reoccurrences it many lead to the end. George has took care of Lennie since his Aunt Clara passed away and they have been working from ranch to ranch hoping to make enough money to get their own ranch.
