Giles Corey acts very ornery when Betty and the girls are found in the woods. He asks everyone, “When is she going to fly? I heard she flies,” to stir up conflict within the town. He also acts this way when Reverend Hale comes, even when he knows his wife reading books did not affect him he told Reverend Hale that he could not pray because his wife was reading books. When with friends I purposely try to make friends angered by pestering them until they get annoyed with me or mad at me.
I manipulate their story for my satisfaction utilizing problems that occur and their feelings toward certain situations. However, just as I relate to Pheoby, I differ from her as well. While on the porch with the other outsiders and members of the community, they all spoke down on Janie. Pheoby kept her response indirect, whereas, her husband directly told them to “shut up” and not to worry about Janie’s whereabouts/business. I, on the other hand, would have spoken in my friend’s defense whether I knew of the truth just yet or
UNDERSTANDING PLOT AND CHARACTER (K/U) 1. Describe the personalities of the three main characters Ulysses Everett McGill, Pete Hog wallop and Delmar O’ Donell. (3 point) Ulysses Everett McGill is a clever, quick-witted person and fast-talking. He’s good at coming up with good plans when things go wrong. He’s disdainful when it comes to religion, for example: when Delmar and Pete were baptized, they said all their sins have been pardoned, Ulysses Everett said that the priest is lying to them.
I don’t like Deborah because she is so mean to Miriam and doesn't seem to love her and care for her. Sisters are suppose to fight but not make fun of each other as much as Deborah does. At one part in the section when Deborah and Miriam sat in the bathroom together, I started to like Deborah just for a second. Deborah wanted Miriam to tell her mom and dad that she was getting bullied at school. She wanted things to change for Miriam. As for Artie, I have mixed feeling about him.
They all narrate and are the protagonist in their own story, and they all three by the end of the book go through a coming of age in character and maturity. Examples of this can be seen when Esperanza encounters sexual assault from a homeless person with her friend Rachel, when Melinda gets raped by Andy Evans, and when Scout comes to age about hatred and prejudice from the rape case against Tom Robinson. The three young girls are always facing trouble in their daily life that helps them develop. Esperanza for example comes in contact with sexual assault caused by a homeless person while with her friend Rachel. Melinda gets sexually assaulted by Andy Evans.
Believe it or not, the community you were brought up in has lasting effects on you. Pell City, Alabama is conveniently located off Interstate 20 between Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia. The city has a variety of great qualities that include Logan Martin Lake, multiple closely knit neighborhoods, and a variety of cultures. The community has the potential to be even better, and it is necessary to be open for improvement.
During her time there, she meets three women with distinct personalities: Moral-Minded Frances, Talkative Pearl and Headstrong Charlotte. Together, the four of them create a strong bond, becoming more like sisters. However, a drastic change occurs at the company, when many workers (and sadly, Charlotte) suffer an illness that is
Ellie over-reacted when she found out grandpa was sick, she immediately came home from college. Ellie also over-reacted when grandpa told stories and sang, because she said they were fake. Ellie and Ms. Price are also not very nice people, I guess you could call them mean. Ms. Price is mean because she never says sorry or apologizes. Ms. Price also makes Rachel do things that she doesn't want to do(put jacket on).
Franny talk about their life 's and what they have both been up to. They spend it by critique each other on how they should act and what they should not do. Franny tries to play the role of a good girlfriend listening and paying attention to what her boyfriend Lane has to say, but there bickering at one other cause Franny to argue with Lane on how she hates people that are phoniness and just wants to fade into the background and be a nobody. Throughout the story Franny 's comments on how a person has to act a certain way because of the social standards that are set. She spends her time in the story abiding by the standers and commenting on them causing her to have an emotional breakdown.
The janitor, Bernie is, again, likable. It’s touching when he leaves a food bag for Rabbit. Donna, Eddie, and the principal, however, are presented as being too one-dimensional. They present as being all “bad” and evil. Most characters/people have more than one side.
Relationships do not just happen. They seem to just form, but they actually follow a natural process that must be worked through. Sam Avers and I became friends in fifth grade. We were introduced through a mutual friend and we have been friends since then. Therefore, we have grown a pretty close relationship.
They are the protagonists; throughout the story we find out they might not be as innocent as they seem. The parents are round characters as we can see how they are reacting and their thoughts about each conflict in the story. Lydia feels she has been replaced by the house as she says, “I feel like I don’t belong here. The house is wife and mother now, and nursemaid. ”(Bradbury 3)
There were a lot grotesque and exaggerated things about these characters. For intense, the old grandma wanted to see her old house so they drove all the way down there as soon as they got there the grandmother remembers that the house is actually in Tennessee nowhere near where she said it was. However, the narrator explained the possibility of dramatic transformation in a person such as the grandmother’s personality against the misfit. She just lost all her family and threatened with death herself, the old grandmother appears to undergo a sudden and miraculous change of heart. She reaches out lovingly to the very person who has killed those she loves and tells him that he’s her baby.
The other main character, Tiffany is portrayed as bitter, mean, and sarcastic and also has some trouble communicating effectively with people. She is often very upfront in many scenes and can be described as having a “sick sense of humor”. An example of this is when she begins to proclaim that Pat is harassing her on Halloween night and when the police get involved, she claims that it was a joke. Tiffany also seems to be unempathetic and doesn’t allow people to explain a situation if she doesn’t understand it
Friendships in the play are not portrayed as being good ones as friendships are for self-gain such as to get information. Lastly,
