Although an Introvert may have trouble with “small talk” while helping a customer, they have an excellent ability to think analytically in order to solve a problem. This analytical thinking is a positive in the field of information technology and user support. As well, they tend to solve problems on their own, without involving several other people. An Extrovert will be well-liked by their customers. Their ability to socialize will be favourable in a customer service area. This type will be quick to try to solve problems, but may not think it through completely. This impulsiveness can be a negative in a user support environment, as the complete picture of what will be impacted by the actions may not be initially recognized. Their ability to deal with a customer on a social level is impressive, but impulsiveness when solving problems may cause unfavourable results.
