Mission & Vision. The Oho Christian University Mission Statements states, “Oho Christian University prepares students to serve effectively in the church and society by providing a holistic, Christ-centered, biblically integrated education in the Wesleyan tradition (“OCU”, 2017).” Although, the mission statement is a wonderful goal, as a prospective student it may be difficult to understand and digest the meaning until they become a student. The OCU vision is to prepare Christian servant leaders that will impact the world in a meaningful way (“OCU”, 2017).

The mission statement, as found on the web page of WSU is “to provide an impartial, neutral and confidential process that facilitates fair and equitable resolutions to concerns that arise within the university.” Washington State University is an amazing school devoted to the education of the nation's finest students. There are many things that set this school apart from others such as location, majors and minors, requirements, tuition, and scholarships and grants.
The ASPCA is an organization that strives to protect the safety, health, and rights of all animals. The acronym stands for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals, and this company was the first humane society to be established in North America. Founded in 1866 by Henry Bergh after the first animal cruelty legislation was passed, ASPCA is now the largest humane societies in the world. Bergh founded the organization with the ideal that “animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law.”(ASPCA.org) Similarly to the founding principles, the ASPCA mission statement reads ““to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”

The Confucian ideology as a whole was considered the main ideology of China for over a millennium, and it was accepted by the majority of Chinese until the 20th century (Benjamin 7). Confucianism has had a powerful influence on Chinese culture, and will likely continue to as long as the Chinese people adopt the values into their everyday lives. Although there pure Confucians may not exist in abundance, many others still practice certain aspects of this ideology. The first focus in the University of Charleston’s mission statement is productive work (Ucwv.edu, Mission. 2018). The University of Charleston define productive work as “trying to contribute a positive improvement or impact to society throughout your life” (Ucwv.edu, Mission. 2018). The LLOs that best help us to achieve this focus are communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Communicating is a very important part of productive work because it lays the basics for strong communication to be built upon. If there is poor communication productive work cannot be achieved.

Because Americans are not focused on education as much as the Chinese culture, there is a noticeable difference in analytical and critical thinking between America and China. In China and ask Chinese kids a question, you will notice that they all will have the same answer and their way of thinking will be similar. Compared to American kids, there will be differences in answering, and their way of thinking might be different from others. For the Chinese people, during their time at college is when they start to have free time to themselves and do not have to focus so much on their school work.
