The author Andrew Curry thinks that workers today are unfulfilled because they would rather work a job they do not like and earn more money than work a job that they are passionate about and earn less. He also talks about how people seem to work more than relax in today's age like when he says “instead of working less, our hours have stayed steady or risen.” (Curry, Kirszner and Mandell 399) the evidence that he uses to connect his view is the amount of people who complain about their jobs. Nowadays everyone knows a person that constantly complains about his or her job but they still work that same job because of the financial gain. Many people today hate the job they work but that same job is the reason they have a car, house etc.
The three careers I chose to examine were IT Security Administrator, Forensics Investigator, and Obstetrician Gynecologist. I chose these careers because I discovered that the employment rates for these jobs are expected to grow at a faster than average 37% from 2012-2022. This is because data security threats are growing and with more digital technology rising, more organizations have become victims of cyber crimes. The other career is what I want to be. Internet Security Administrators, also known as computer security specialists, or Internet security specialists, protect computer systems against attack.
As stated by Gioia, “...Business leaders consistently set imagination, creativity, and high-order thinking at the top”. The quote explained, gives details on the employers’ requirements of characteristic traits when hiring someone. The employers want someone who is educated and can also display the attributes needed. Attributes like being able to expand their mind to different horizons; to think on a bigger perspective and be inventive with new ideas.

Along with building and designing, civil engineers aldo analyze and plan projects, consider costs, perform soil testing to look at strength for the foundations going there, test materials, present their findings to the public, manage the repair of infrastructures. Some say getting hired at any job can be difficult, especially if it considers taking a few risks to work during long hours. Like Russel Honore and Bill Laitner talks about how they risked to not work for anything they were interested in, but who can complain when somebody earns money to take care of oneself? Some people believe that having a job is a privilege, and that anyone should be thankful for having that job even if some of those employees do not like it. Although having a job can be time-consuming and stressful, it is a responsibility to provide for oneself with anything that comes from work. Appreciate a job that can get someone paid for something that they have to do.
I enjoy engineering, in fact when I get older I want to become a biomedical engineer. I want to be able to help people. As well as find solutions to help people in their everyday lives. So that hopefully it would make life easier and less stressful for them. I enjoy all the problem solving that comes with engineering.
My Sense of Purpose at Work Dela Gana, Karol Raneses June 24, 2015 Summary— my nursing career allows me to obtain essential qualities to what I believe is needed to be a successful nurse. I established important goals to remain on this path for success. It made me the person I am today. It is hard to just pick one memorable moment because it is the big and small daily happenings that make nursing such a rewarding profession. It is priceless profession.
I have been unclear growing up of exactly what career path I wanted to take and this job has given me the opportunity to finally figure out what it is that I want to do.
