My group’s assigned task was; Explore how people view issues related to the Civil War from different perspectives, focusing on the roles of various groups and individuals from Virginia that influenced the outcome We were also given a guiding question to drive our work forward; When was the impact of slavery on Virginia as well as the nation? To answer our question we used a book called Our Virginia past and present, and a website called Civil War Trust.org. We conducted lots of research and created two visalus, a timeline that includes major events from before, during, and after the civil war and a map showing the Union, border, and Confederate states. Some evidence that proves this is that the southern states started to secede from the nation an formed the confederacy. Te president, Abraham Lincoln, did not approve of the southern states actions and attempted to conserve what was left of the nation. The remaining states called themselves the union and a war started between the two groups of states. Despite the raging war the north sometimes still bought crops from the south because the north was much more industrialized than the south. The south ws using slave labor to mass produce cash crops like cotton and food crops like wheat and crn.In the north people had less and less use for slaves and realized just how terrible it is. Despite many people still owning slaves in the north, the union now fought against slavery and allowed runaway southern slaves to join the union army for freedom. The issues of war even
