Classical conditioning is a process of learning in which a two stimuli are affiliated with each other. The second stimulus is performed in response to the initial stimulus. Classical conditioning is used in a multitude of areas of learning. Pet owners, parents, and teachers use it in order to condition their animals and children to perform certain tasks in response to a certain stimulus. For example, some pet owners use classical conditioning to condition their dog to bark when they hear a certain sound (such as a whistle, click, buzzer, etc.). When the dog hears the noise, they know that they need to bark. Sometimes, however, classical conditioning does not work in the way the experimenter hopes it will. It has been believed that classical conditioning can work for the majority of people/animals in order to get them to behave a particular way. According to the experiment performed, that belief has been disproven. While classical conditioning may work for some people/animals, it does not work for all. It seemed like it was more likely that those that could see what was being read, and was reading along, would be more likely to be conditioned that those that could not see it, or did not read along. The experiment could have been altered in that when the students tap their pencil to “the” and the bell sounds, they are praised. In that form they could associate tapping their pencils, the sound of the bell, and being praised with each other. If this had been the case, the results could have been different. In conclusion, however, this form of classical conditioning did not work on the majority of those that took part in the
