We were one of the first national fleets to use LPG, adding our first vehicle in 1998 and, by 2013 86% of our van fleet had been converted to run on LPG and we invested in bulk storage and filling facilities at over three quarters of our depots. However Government Policy is driving a switch away from LPG and we are now replacing our older, less efficient, commercial vehicles with new ones incorporating the latest clean vehicle technology We continue to invest in low emission vehicles and we now have zero – emission Electric Vehicles in use in London and Birmingham. We are looking to add further zero emission vehicles to our fleet in other UK cities. For our car fleet we have reduced our average fleet car emissions by 30% from 167g/CO2/Km in 2008 to below 116g/CO2/km today through the setting of demanding maximum emissions levels for our new vehicles We actively look to increase our fleet utilisation efficiency through better route planning and through specifying our vehicles closely to the work required of them.
