As with any sort of company integration, it is impossible to take only the good and leave out the negative, and Verizon must understand that in acquiring Yahoo, with opportunity comes threat. With the recent hackings Yahoo has been victim to, there are many threats Verizon must be aware of before making any acquisition decisions. Some of these threats are more obvious than others, but they are all crucial in determining the success of the integrating company.
There is no question that Yahoo has been targeted as a vulnerable company for hackers to attack. The company has been a victim of two major hackings since 2014, and acquisition of such a company means taking on the threat of being hacked in the future. The recent hackings have proven to be a threat to Yahoo’s overall safety, as valuable customer information is in the hands of an unauthorized third parties.
