Capital One I will be doing my Milestone One Project on a company called Capital One. Capital One is a banking finance industry that deals with aspects such as finances, investment, mobile banking, along with deposits, withdrawals, checking accounts, savings, etc. I will be discussing Capital One’s Value, Mission Statement, Organizational Strategy, their SWOT analysis, Operational Strategy, Product & Process Strategies, & its Location Strategy. The success of this system has led to future projects including a project in Mount Sterling that will use a microgrid to provide twenty-four hour a day service to a communications tower. This microgrid will be not only more reliable and less costly because of the elimination of traditional power poles and wires; it will also allow thirteen acres to return to its natural state. This is due to the fact that the land is currently used as a utility corridor, but after the project it will no longer be needed. Furthermore, in Maryland Duke Energy has plans to construct two microgrids that will be used for public safety facilities. The two systems will include solar and combined heat and power, which saves energy by using waste heat from on-site generation

Duke Energy is the largest power holding company in the United States. Serving well over seven million customers and being active in more than six states across the country makes them one of the top companies in the country. Duke Energy contributes its success to having a diverse portfolio of energy harnessing activities and looking to the future instead of staying in the past. Even though it is now such a large company, Duke Energy was not always such a ‘powerhouse’ in the energy world.

Verizon has the opportunity in the current economy and is in a great position within its industry to strengthen its number one position market by evaluating the current price plans and include an option to have unlimited data. Brand recognition and customer loyalty have afforded Verizon to continue to charge a premium price for the service it provides. In this technology driven society data is no longer a luxury and is considered to be a critical component to preform everyday task. Customers will pay for the peace of mind to know their bill will not be impacted by additional data fees.
Like other products in the marketplace, there are threats and challenges for the salesforce. At this moment, the biggest challenges for the salesforce is that EvaDrop is in its final stages of manufacturing. There is no product testing available yet for the public. Therefore, it is more difficult to capture a public's interest and hard to predict consumer acceptance of the product. Furthermore, there are similar products that are already for sales on the market.
C. The forecast for Verizon With Verizon dealing with competition to stay technologically sound, it would not be ideal to integrate backwards. Instead, they are forward vertically integrating into the new markets that their competitors have created. One of these markets is the one that DirecTV and AT&T have created with television, phone, and internet. AT&T's move is part of what has become a growing trend. Verizon has recently merged with Motorola, creating FiOS.
The two companies I chose were from the NYSE. They are Verizon communication and Sprint Corporation. They are both well-known companies in the U.S. They represent the upper echelon the telecom and wireless communication industry. Their main competitor are T-Mobile, and AT&T.
