Imagine that you have a dog. It is a very cute dog that you love. You come home from school or work one day and you find that it has died. If you are sad, don’t be. With a scientific process called cloning you can get your dog back… well sort of. With cloning there are many good things that can come from it but with those pros, come some many cons as well. There are two kinds of people when it comes to cloning pets. The two types are the ones who are against cloning and those who are for cloning. In the article “Cloning Pets - What Do You Think?” those who are for cloning give valid statements such as “Cloning is a way honor a beloved pet and to ease the grief of losing a pet.” This tells us that cloning is used to help us cope with the pain of losing a pet and that we honor it by wanting the same traits in the next pet we get. I am against cloning because it just doesn’t seem fair to just copy pets like they are worthless. Each pet is unique and it should stay like that. Another reason why I am against cloning is because it would make me sad if I saw a copy of my old pet that I loved walking around my house and me knowing that it could never be the same. One more reason is that each successful clone has dozens of failures so you would have to put down a lot of animals just to get what you wanted. This is why my opinion is against rather than for cloning pets. Overall there are two sides to cloning your pets but I think it is wrong. Each side has their arguments that make plenty of sense and they know what they are talking about. I agree with both of them but I just think that it is stupid and that there are more cons than pros in this situation.
