The main assumption of the cognitive therapy is maladjusted manners which lead to people to put barriers in front of their self are occurring as a result of their incorrect or illogical thoughts and people who think apart from the reality are tend to perceive the circumstances by using their distorted perceptions as well as these distorted thoughts cause them to exhibit dysfunctional beliefs and incorrect behavior (Beck, 2010). Therefore, the goal of the cognitive therapy is to help the clients to alter their thoughts about situations or their self from negative to positive and also cognitive therapy explain the personal problems such as feeling bad or fear with the negative perceptions of the clients (Morgan, 2003). To begin with, the therapist can offer the patient to do progressive muscle relaxation technique (PMR) in order to be relaxed when he will stuck in the elevator in order to do not panic. PMR is a technique that has been used to diminish the physiological reactions to the stress and PMR contains consecutively tensing and calming separate muscles that help individuals advance body alertness, shows them how to relieve tension and decreases the state of anxiety (Maimunah & Hashim, 2016). Therefore, the clients will reduce their anxiety and be calm to apply the coping strategies which were practice in the cognitive rehearsal session. Finally, in order to help the patient to overcome their belief which belong to their past elevator experience, therapist can give homework to the patient to encourage the patient to seek information against his beliefs. For example, he believes that he is alive thanks to his chance, but when he will search the information, he will see that nobodies lose their life in the secure elevator and also he will realize that all elevators are controlled regularly and tested. Bryant, Simons and Thase (1999) clarified that homework help the clients to comply the treatment which increases the efficiency of treatment since participant takes an active learning responsibility so patients are actively being aware their dysfunctional thoughts or behaviors and adapt the cognitive
