One of the most important leadership roles I’ve had is being Editor and Chief of the Yearbook, The Pinnacle, committee at Pikesville High. Being the Editor and Chief requires creativity, communication, collaboration, patience, and responsibility. Prior to becoming the Editor in Chief I was just a part of the committee for two years. My sophomore year was my first year in Yearbook and I was just learning about the in’s and Out’s about how to create a successful yearbook. I learned all the fundamentals like how to interview people and how to write interesting stories called Body Copy’s for any sport, club, or event.
There was a time when I can help student understand the concept better during school and it help them get their grades better. These leadership help me impact a positive change to not just me but to people who wanted
As a leader, he/she should know how to communicate with the decision makers as well as with the families of the students, and his/her faculty and staff. With the growing diversity of students within our school and community, as an educational leader I will need to be able to understand the relationship between social justice, school culture, and the community. I will determine what opportunities are available within our community, discuss with the stakeholders our beliefs, perceptions, and attitudes that will shape and influence the way our school will be run. I will have to learn how to recognize the differences of
In order to see if any career services center is truly capable of performing their duties, one must be able to dig further than your average student. In order to fully see what a university has to offer one must be able to see what the university offers their students. As an undergrad it is impossible to fully know what we want to do. We have no formal training on how to create a cover letter, resume or any material that is needed in order to obtain a future. Background Information
Mr. Reyes is a leader that considers the values and personality of every employee. He develops conversations with every employee asked them about their life, issues and possible recommendations to improve the management and administration at the Webb County Treasures. More importantly, Mr. Reyes allows us to develop social relations to interact between each other and integrate our values and visions. Schein (2004) argued, “If, on the other hand, the founder’s beliefs and values do not lead to success, the group will fail and disappear or will seek other leadership until someone is found whose beliefs and values will lead to success” (p. 307). The leadership of an organization is the core aspect for any function, development, relations and culture for an agency or corporation.
By taking on leadership roles such as being president of environmental club and public relations of class council, I am a mentor to others all while sharing the same interests and providing opportunities for them to build their own character. Prior to this school year, I was fortunate enough to attend a weeklong event called Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, where I lived there for a week surrounded by young leaders from all over south jersey. In this experience, I learned that being a leader means being understanding of others and their situations. With this experience I was able to bring back what I learned to my own communities like environmental club. Not only do I have to be organize and communicative, but I also have to be a role model to members of a club by showing my own good character.
Linda Bell’s was working as a full-time at RACC when an administrator asked her to be division chair her first instinct was no but after sometime and rethinking here career choices she took the position and never regretted the decision. In addition to being an Assistant Dean for the Business Department she is also an advocate for students and faculty. Mrs. Bell’s philosophy for leadership is “Servant first which means. It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first.” Which it turns brings one aspire to lead.
I am able to take on many leadership roles and do them all with a smile! University of Dayton students seem to have a great school spirit, and I would like to add my ideas to build it even
I too am eager to give back to Flushing High School in different ways, big or small. What is your most important value that you see in being an effective leader? Explain how it affects your role as a leader.
To bring a change in education we need leaders to be ambitious, inspirational, transformative and visionary. Leaders who consider bringing hope and empowerment to create a fair social society have to work within a political and bureaucratic system of the 21st century (Shields 2010). There is a vast amount of literature available regarding leadership in education, in term of policies and roles of leadership in schools (Gunter 2009). Gunter (2009) believes leadership in education lies within four different positions e.g. critical, humanistic, instrumental and scientific.
Leadership I am a motivated teacher and I love my students at Doss High School, where I teach Business classes. It is through my love of teaching that I am passionate about ensuring all children have the best opportunity to meet their life’s ambitions. I began my first four years of teaching with positive energy and a love of my career. I enjoyed teaching Career Choices class for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students at Frost Middle School. Although Frost Middle school was a persistently low achieving school that presented many challenges, after two years I felt like I was making an impact on my students.
I would like to be the vice president of my senior class. I am the best candidate for this position for many different reasons. Most importantly, I tend to be very objective when it comes to making decisions. This can be beneficial for planning events and other duties that the vice president executes. I am also unbiased and as vice president, I would represent my entire class rather than a small group of people.
“Get good grades, do your service hours, get involved, make new friends, be kind to others, AND don’t forget about choosing where you want to go for college! Got it? Good luck!” This was a common buzzing sound in my ear ever since my high school career began at Roncalli. The pressure is always on to demonstrate greatness.
Effective leader build a strong and successful setting for children. Strong leadership, ethical practices and professional knowledge provides high quality educational outcome. I have strong leadership in my program and it builds respect, parent, teacher and community collaboration and a trusting and well nurtured relationship between teacher and students. Challenges and expectations are provided to help develop the highest outcome of education possible for all children. How do you envision this issue impacting your future work with children?
Teachers are the life-blood of school districts across the United States. They are masters of their specific grade-level content and work tirelessly to manage the learning and well-being of their students. Teachers are the academic leaders of the learning environment within their classrooms and collaborate with their students throughout the year in order to facilitate learning, and foster creativity and problem solving. However, over the last thirty years, teacher leadership has taken on a whole new meaning.
