In September of 2015 I experienced something no student or community wants to go through. Losing somebody important to you is never easy, your world may even feel like it’s falling beneath you. On September 16th we lost a wonderful human being, Zeke Orme. Not only was Zeke one of my classmates, but he was one of my best friends. The morning after this tragic event, I went straight to Mr. Koele’s office. He was somebody I knew I could talk to. Mr. Koele gave me amazing advice. He was there for me! I am beyond thankful for that conversation I was able to have with Mr. Koele. Not only did he help me grieve, but at this moment of time I realized that I wanted to be a teacher. I realized how greatly my teacher have helped me. They have played a huge role in my life by helping me reach my full potential. I hope that someday I will be lucky enough to work in a school district like Saint Croix Central. Math has never been my strong suite. I often times gave up. My grades in math were always just enough to move on, but nothing better. The beginning of my junior year I was signed up to take Intermediate Algebra with Mr. Kimberly. From day one, I knew I would have to work hard to keep up in class. The way Mr. KImberly teaches is fantastic. His teaching style worked really well for me. It was easy to ask him questions because you knew he was there to help you. I never once felt like I was bothering him with my questions. He checked in on all students to make sure they were understanding the concept. If they were not, he wouldn't give up in him. A quality I have learned from him, and hope to have as a teacher someday is the ability to make every student feel important, and to have fun in class but always keeping up with the tasks that need to be
