I am going to improve the world. I just need your help, by giving me the opportunity to further my education so I can a greater impact on the world. In the the words of Neslon Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. I have taken this concept to heart, So I am adding higher education to my arsenal of tools for my ability to inspire and facilitate peoples learning of science and show them why it is important.
When I started my undergraduate education I didn’t know what I wanted to major in. I just wanted to study science. I was using an organization that was helping me pay for my education and they required me to pick a major. So I picked biology because I like animals and wanted to be in a profession that involved animals. As I progressed through my required science classes in my degree I had to take various classes. I grew to love all of the subjects and of the classes I especially loved chemistry.

My affinity towards chemistry started to grow and it started to make more and more sense. I understood it well enough that I would move through the questions quite efficiently and when I was presented with a question I didn’t know, I would go to the tutoring lab. When I was at the tutoring lab there were a lot of students and they all needed help. There were too many students the tutors had a hard time handling all of them, so I would help the students I could. This helped me develop a love for explaining chemistry, so much so, that a friend told me I should apply to be a tutor at UVU. I took their advice and I applied to be a tutor and was promptly
