There are many issues in this world today that interest me, however what I would like to focus on in this essay is the education and advancement of women throughout the world. I personally have become inspired to go on into higher education through university. I recently finished my first two years and earned an Associates Degree at a local college. I know that I must continue through and finish my Bachelor's degree. Education is very important to me because I know it is something necessary to become successful in life. I want to make sure that nothing holds me back from having a successful future. The idea of Women’s education is an important topic because in today’s world there are many things still trying to hold women back from their full potential. Unfortunately many women are expected to fulfill a certain role in the family. They are often pressured into staying home to take care of the children, or be a good wife to the husband while he makes the majority of the money in the family. Even today in less developed countries some women do not have the opportunity to receive education. Families struggling with money will often choose their son over their daughter to become educated, because it is seen that a women can marry a rich man and not have to worry. Many of these fields offering high salary, but somehow not looked at as a women’s job. Medical, Science, and Technology field all have far more male workers than female. And those women who do work in these fields are often paid a much lower salary than their male counterparts, for the exact same job. In companies women are often overlooked for large promotions in fear that they might need to take lengthy amounts of time off to take care of children or to have a child.
