As any high schooler, the preparation for college starts once it’s senior year, and the struggle to determine a future. The preparation starts with multiple things like the dreaded SAT’s and applying to universities. Some high school students don’t even consider college as an option because some students can’t financially afford college or it’s just not in their interest. Attending college isn’t crucial in our society but it is beneficial for someone who wants to expand their knowledge in a career of their choice.

College opens plenty of opportunities for those who want a career. Although, college is expensive there are options that can help education become more affordable. Students that feel college is out of their budget lack doing their research. There’s plenty of scholarships waiting to be claimed but students don’t seek them out. Scholarships can range from $100 to $10,000, and can be extremely useful. There’s also financial aid, work-study, and loans. Community college is another financially affordable choice due to the low-cost of tuition which is typically $1,000. Some colleges offer programs that can help pay tuition. All of this can be obtained by doing research about college. Getting a job can be an easy pick but typically it’s hard to afford some luxuries in life. Wherever a student lives housing can be hard to get with just a minimum wage job. It closes a lot of opportunities to do anything you aspire to do like traveling or vacationing. With a college degree the hourly rate is twice as more than a normal job, and this can be a struggle for someone who doesn’t have a college degree. Someone who works minimum has to work twice as hard as anyone else. The convenience and little experience of a job is a huge plus but working twice as hard can be a downfall.
