Everyone has challenges that can affect their life and aspirations. I find that it is how one internalizes those challenges, how one pushes through those challenges, and how one learns and grows from those challenges that allows one to overcome those challenges so they do not impede personal growth. While I have had a lot of challenges, one challenge was my distaste for writing. The rules were fluid and the answer was not set which confused me when I was younger.This pushed me to focus more on math, as I enjoyed its fixed rules and formulas.

Focusing on math allowed me to improve upon my complex reasoning skills, which gave me transferable skills that I could use to improve my writing. By using these skills I was better able to improve my writing and creativity. With my new found creative ability and also interest in the technological field I wanted to take part in clubs or activities that were available in that area. The video club …show more content…

It helped me develop an interest into the technical field and gave me opportunities to excel. A large influence that furthered my interest in this area was my advisor who was also the head of the Information Technology Department. He gave me a chance to further my advancement in the computing and engineering field by encouraging me to join the high school robotics club.

With that encouragement, I became a member of the high school robotics club since my freshman year. The club has multiple areas of interest pertaining to the engineering and technology fields, allowing me to experience and try out these different aspects. I have been able to try out both mechanical and computer engineering through the club. I decided to focus more on the computing aspects as well as wiring.
