BACKGROUND Knowing the background of the job of interest not only provides an upper hand but an idea of what type of atmosphere it has been throughout the years. Knowing the history, key individuals, purpose statement and values, and mission statements can sometimes persuade applicants to apply for a job with the institution. Encountering this information has become much easier with the use of the internet and search engines. History “Texas A&M University and Prairie View A&M University were first founded as land-grant colleges in 1876,” years later the A&M system was established in 1948 by the Texas Legislature.
Hard work is essential, ultimately, helping us to
Something that we need to never forget is that we are, “Unforgettable, that’s what you are” (Kidd). I like this quote because I believe that if someone acts as themselves all the time and is not constantly following the influences of others and isn't always dependant on others that people will remember that. For example if you see a group of people walking down the street
To me a hard worker is someone who doesn’t give up on something they do, and someone who gives all they can to do something. Sara Smolinsky shows us that she identifies with hard work when she decides to go sell herrings at a young age, moves out on her own. and goes to college to become a teacher. Sara Smolinsky goes out to sell herrings at a young age because he family cannot afford
“The task ahead of you is never as great as the strength within you”. I live by these quotes each day which shapes up of who I am. If I start something I must always finish and give it my all, whether it’s on the field and off the field. To give one-hundred percent in a game and in the classroom, that winners never quit, and quitters never win. Whether I win or lose, as long as I gave it my all, then that’s all that matters.
On June 14, 1953 — Flag Day — President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed into law a contentious modification to a 60 year old tradition: the phrase “under God” was to be inserted into the Pledge of Allegiance. Supporters of the bill claimed that its passage would make the Pledge more consistent with America’s tradition of faith and spirituality. This appears to be a contradiction: how can changing the Pledge make it more traditional? President Eisenhower wrote that the phrase would serve to “remind [us] of the spiritual and moral principles [...] upon which our way of life is founded”. This exemplifies a key tactic used by those Christians who called for substantial changes to the incorporation of religion in America’s public schools: the appeal
¨One nation under god individual with liberty and justice for all, Amen.¨ This is the last few lines of the Pledge of the allegiance, These last few lines are known for being very controversial in the likes of school districts. Many of schools have thought about or have prohibited saying amen in the end of the American Pledge of Allegiance, though its historical collections of controversies have caused numerous changes in the Pledge. The last change in 1954, but now they are beginning to change it once again On numerous occasions controversies have been taken to the supreme court. In 1940 the supreme court,in Minersville School District VS.
Patriotism is defined as devoted love, support, and defense of one's country. The purpose of the Pledge of Allegiance is to increase patriotism and unity within our wonderful nation. However, the pledge we know and recite today is not the original; the original, written by Francis Bellamy, read “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” The words “under God” were not added to the pledge until 1954, 62 years after it was originally written. While the phrase contains only two words, the two words are very powerful.
The issue I plan to address for my research paper is the debate for the Pledge of Allegiance to be integrated into the school system. I also plan on addressing the inclusion of the words “under God” and the series of lawsuits that followed the congressional change. I became interested in this topic hen I discovered that its integration to public schools it was closely linked with the mandatory inclusion of an American Flag in every classroom.
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.
My goals have changed a lot over the last couple of years. Bouncing back and forth between majors and deciding if I even want to be taking college classes right now. I kept asking myself why I should struggle with hard classes when I have a good job right now. But then I stopped and repeated “good job right now.” My job as a twenty year old might support me right now but is it going to support me in ten or fifteen years when I’m trying to buy a house and support my family?
The two important values that I have learnt are the independence and the respect. I learnt these two values since my childhood. One of the values is the independence. Independence means that you can support yourself without owning or depending on yourself concerned with livelihood or studying. You can make decision of your life without being controlled by the others.
Work Hard Anything without hard work is nothing. “Hard work defeats talent when talent does not work hard.” Hence, despite having everything essential for you to succeed in your entrepreneurial field, if you won’t work hard then it will cost you your life to succeed. Hard work plays a vital role in your journey to success.
