Ever wondered that, some football players do not have enough money to pay for a bus ride home. Players are being stripped from working hard, and winning championships. For example, Cam Newton a former heisman winner, made no money in college—now in the NFL he is making 20 million dollars a year. College football players deserve to make money for doing all the work they do. This will allow college athletes to not be in debt. Players need to be able to take care for their families. College football players practice every single day, play every weekend, and go to school. Players are able to make some earnings from being on national television as well. “Some of the money college athletes earn could go into the lockbox. The rest could be available for the athletes to use when needed.” (“Should These Players Be Paid?”). Having the ability to practice, go to school, and play games and not be making money it is absurd. Some opponents say there is too much compensation for players.
