The NCAA has generated billions of dollars every year due to their players ability to entertain and perform and they don’t get any of the money from doing so. College athletes should be getting paid because first they need income and can’t get a job because they are too busy practicing, would influence them to stay and complete college and not turn pro, and corruption would decrease. The NCAA has been debating whether or not the should start paying their college athletes.
Athletes train and practice every day, It’s their job but they receive no benefits for putting in the work they do. They barely have time to study for school much less get a job, which will put more stress on them. Athletes train for almost 40 hours a week and attend classes and do school work for about 45

Paying athletes would allow them to pay for expenses that their scholarship doesn’t pay for. Since most of college athletes don’t make it onto be a professional it would be good to pay them so that they will stay in school instead of going to the draft and if they don’t make they will most likely not go back to school. Getting a college degree is essential to get a good job which will make them have the best life they could. Some of these athletes families that they come are very poor and the kids are trying to leave college so they can be in the pros already making money because their family depends on them. So they don’t have the choice to stay for their to finish their college degree. Paying athletes would also show them how to manage their money which is an important skill for young people. Whether they go onto make millions of dollars playing professional sports or not it is a very important skill to have. It will also teach them how to save money cause they will have to use that money wisely because they don’t have time to work
